This trail is low to moderate difficulty because accessibility is good throughout the year, apart from the extremely rainy days, although it is slightly uphill and occurs mainly in soil.The trail is totally 13,04 Km and passes through olive groves, scrub, low arboreal vegetation and phryganic land used for grazing.
The trail travels the plain-hilly zone Mythimnas, the western foothills of Lepetymnos. It is characterized by mild surfaces with continuous low hills, which are steeper to the east.
Despite the slight elevation gradient, it is allowed the development of multiple types of vegetation in the area. In fact several types of vegetation of Lesvos, from the coastal plant communities, brushwood and olive groves, scrub and oak forests coexist in the region. The intermediate hilly sections with intense and pleated embossed, formed treaties with multiple locations for panoramic observation of the area. Furthermore, the folds have formed a dense hydrographic network medium and high class (micro - valleys, streams and torrents ) resulting in major streams with interesting hydrophilic vegetation, mainly plane trees, oleanders , Ligaria etc.
It is located within the Special Protection Area (SPA - SPA) network NATURA 2000, with the name 'North Lesvos' and password GR: 4110012. It includes large areas with brushwood, grasslands and olive groves and farmland. Also within the area there are small-scale artificial wetland (eg Mythimnas Reservoir)
The international importance of the entire region SPA 'North Lesvos' is indicated by the existence of considerable breeding population of cinereous bunting (Emberiza cineracea), the long-legged buzzard (Buteo rufinus), the Fryganotsichlonou (Emberiza caesia), the Aigaiotsirovakou (Sylvia ruepelli). Also, the importance of the region is indicated by the existence of valuable breeding population that exceeds 1% of the national population for the following species: Dendrostarithra (Lullula arborea) and Pardarokefalas (Lanius nubicus).
In the paths overlooking the Molyvos the walker has almost always visual contact with the medieval castle of Molyvos. Simultaneously, he/she moves into the rich volcanic geological background of the area being in contact with the geomorphology formations of the area.
